Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 12, 2026
1. Who we are
MyNextEvent ("we", "us", or "our") is a web application operated at mynextevent.org that helps event organizers share upcoming events via a shareable QR code and calendar links.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: When you sign up or sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
- Calendar data: When you connect a Google Calendar, we read your calendar events (titles, dates, times, descriptions, and locations) via the Google Calendar API. This access is read-only — we never create, modify, or delete your calendar events.
- Usage data: Standard web server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited.
3. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and maintain your session.
- To sync your Google Calendar events and display them on your public MyNextEvent organization page.
- To send transactional emails (such as collaborator invitations) related to your account.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or calendar data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. Google API data — limited use disclosure
MyNextEvent's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically: calendar data obtained via the Google Calendar API is used solely to populate your public event page on MyNextEvent. It is not used for any other purpose, transferred to other apps, or used to train AI or machine-learning models.
5. Data retention
We retain your account information and synced calendar data for as long as your account is active. If you disconnect a Google Calendar, we stop syncing new data. If you delete your account, all associated personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
6. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time via our contact form. You may also revoke MyNextEvent's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account security settings.
7. Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
8. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption in transit and encrypted storage of OAuth tokens. However, no system is completely secure — please contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the site. Continued use of MyNextEvent after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
